PM 454 Casull Auto by Hoborginc PM 454 Casull Auto by Hoborginc
Commissioned by [Ramona] Yummei Karasu

Package includes:
- Patterns (10 png files)
- Instructions & Photos (24 jpg files)

As with all my models, it's intended for around 90lb/185g paper, sized letter or A4.

Download (Mediafire, .zip)

Why doesn't it resemble the anime version? Because this is the OVA version.
Why is the barrel gold-colored? Because it has a titanium nitride finish.

I don't know if you have a youtube channel but please! Please! Make an instruction video about how to build the gun! (and the jackal) because I ordered the gun from an online shop and I didn't know I would have to make every single piece of it my self and the package had no instructions in it :'( so I have no idea how to build it . Please make an instruction video. I beg here Q.Q

That's unfortunate. But don't worry, the instructions are all in the download package.
It's not exactly an entry-level model, and there's no instant way to learn papercraft. It's a gradual process. If you start off with some simpler paper models such as cubecrafts and gradually move to more complex ones like the NSP, you will soon develop up the skills necessary to build it correctly.

Hello there! do you mind if I use both your designs of Casull Auto and Jackal pistols from Hellsing in a short animation?
(The animation is just for fun, nothing commercial involved. I'll credit  you. :))
Thanks! Alucard Smirk

То, что находится в папке "construction," то и есть все инструкции. К сожалению нет ничего более подробного, но зато тут никаких особенно сложных деталей тоже нет.

can you make dante's ebony & ivory based off of the casull & jackal design?

Of course it's possbile, but I'm afraid even something similar to another design requires the same amount of test building and fine-tuning to get right. I've put them on the request tracker, but they're not a priority.

Question, could you tell me what brand of card stock you used for this?

I usually use Canson watercolor paper, 90lb/185gsm. However, in its absence, I've been using Strathmore watercolor paper, 90lb/190gsm.

I apologize for this question but, what's the length of these guns? Are they accurate lengthwise?

Casull overall length: 14.5" (Slide length: 13.75", barrel length: 11.35")

Jackal overall length: 14.5" (Slide length: 14", barrel length: 11")

They're about 0.5" shorter than the true (39cm) length, for the purpose of arranging the parts neatly on a page.

I'll be sure to link you once I finish building them. This is going to be fun!

Do you think 60lb cardstock would work as well?

So I finished the Jackal model and I'm starting this one now (Don't ask why I did them backwards, I don't know) and I'm confused about the front slide walls. Do the groove tabs attach to the flat inside of the paper, or do you close up the other half first and glue them like a triangle to that? They don't seem to bend any other way when I try...

Can i maybe also get some help on how to make the front bottom of the slide?

Yeah, it's a pretty difficult part, so I'll try to explain it.
Start out by attaching the U-shaped back to the sides. The sides have a zig-zag in them, where a narrow section goes horizontal, forming a little step. You can see the shape by looking at the U-shaped back.
The front has an extra pair of strips hanging off it. Push them out of the way for now, and attach the straight edges of the U-shaped front to the sides (the front of which is also straight). This should leave a gap on each side, where the "step" curves upward. The pair of strips at the front are now used to cover these gaps. These can be a bit troublesome, so if you have some kind of tweezers, they might help.

Now for the interior. It's supposed to fit into the U-shaped opening. The outermost edges of the interior are horizontal. The large sections next to them are vertical (the inner walls), the central section is horizontal (the bottom), and the narrow sections in between are diagonal. If you fold all the tabs back to make room, the interior should fit in there and complete the part.

Ok the other one wasnt the last after all...
How does the hammer go together for this one? I had assumed it'd be like the Jackal but it's not.

It is actually like the Jackal's. The only difference is that the inside of the cylindrical part is just a straight cylinder instead of a pair of cones.

oh that makes a lot more sense. I was wondering what the separate circular section was.
Where do the axle spacers go, then?

:iconhoborginc:
Hoborginc Featured By Owner Mar 6, 2014
Oh, those are just to keep it centered.
They go on the holes, so the axle will go through one spacer, the hammer, than the other spacer.

Okay, the next (and hopefully last) thing i'm stuck on is the mag catch.
Thanks for all the help again, by the way!

:iconhoborginc:
Hoborginc Featured By Owner Mar 6, 2014
This mag catch consists of a tube with a short cylinder-shaped endcap (the button) on the left end and a different endcap (circle with a protrusion) on the right end. Attach the weird shape first, then stick it the tube through the frame so that the end cap fits into the shape of the hole on the right side of the frame. Then attach the left cylinder once it's already on the frame. It should be able to move back and forth a little bit.

Now the tube might take up some space in the magwell, so push the tube against the front wall to deform it a little until it lets the magazine through smoothly. (On the Jackal it's a semicircular tube specifically to correct this issue).

Yes, it certainly would stand to reason that the AMT Automag series was the primary basis for Hirano Kouta's design.
Unfortunately the circumstances of the real world haven't yet compelled Arcadia Machine & Tool to produce one in anything larger than .50 AE.
