This is a papercraft AKM model I originally made for /po/. It's rather large (1:1 scale), and can take a while to build because a lot of the parts have walls on the inside, for sturdiness. The safety and bolt are moveable. If you want, there's space to put a spring to push the bolt forward, though the strength of the spring vs. the strength of the parts would be your concern.

Here are the instructions for the mag.

You can see that its basic structure consists of two curved boxes: a large one (main section) and a small one (front ridge). Each box is fully closed (6 sides). Thus, the "main section" front, bottom, top, and rear faces on Pg.2 of the magazine correspond to the large curved parts on Pg.1. Accordingly, the "front ridge" front face and rear face (which also contains the top and bottom) on Pg.2 correspond to the smaller curved parts on Pg.1.

The "front ridge" is the smaller curved box, and it's not open on any side. Thus, its "rear face" is just the back curved side. It's not visible on the final product, because this is the part that is glued directly to the main section of the magazine.

hay great fan of your work but I'm having a problem. after downloading the file for the AK47 there is a notification that come's up saying something on the lines of "this file is not supported with the software you are using" and that leaves me to wonder.... what software do I need to use to open the file or what software do you use? Many thanks.

It's a RAR archive. Use winRAR or 7zip (both freely available on the internet) to extract it.

Inside, you will find .jpeg's (construction photographs), .png's (the printouts), and a .txt (notes). There's also a subfolder for the colorless version.
